MILWAUKEE-The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee will host the MCC Swimming and Diving Championships this week at the Schroeder Aquatic YMCA Center in Brown Deer. The conference meet will begin with prelims on Wednesday, Feb. 21, and end with finals on Saturday, Feb. 24.

Besides UWM, five other schools within the conference will travel to Milwaukee to compete: UW-Green Bay, Butler, Wright State, Cleveland State, and Illinois-Chicago.

"We are very excited to host the MCC Championship," said UWM coach Dave Clark. "From everything I can see, it should be an outstanding meet for both men and women. I hope both our teams will be right in the middle of the hunt for the championship."

The Panthers are looking for a repeat of last year when the men's swimming and diving team took first place, with several individuals being recognized. Clark won MCC Coach of the Year honors, while two Panthers took home MCC Diver of the Year and MCC Newcomer of the Year awards. The women's squad was just points away from first place, but ended with a third-place finish.

MCC Championship swimming and diving results and a recap of events will be posted on UWM's website, uwmpanthers.com, following events Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights.
