MILWAUKEE - UWM freshman Beth Watt (Waukesha, Wis./West) has been named MCC Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced today.

In a dual-meet win over Valparaiso last weekend, Watt claimed first place in the 200 butterfly, setting a new UWM freshman record in the process in a time of 2:13.85.

This marks the fifth time this season a Panther has won MCC Athlete of the Week in swimming and diving. Todd Hill (West Bend, Wis./East), Adam Stoelting (Kiel, Wis./Kiel), Matt Schmaling (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) and Peter Clark (Whitefish Bay, Wis./Whitefish Bay) have also earned the honor this year.
