Milwaukee — Fresh from a training trip to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. during winter break, the UWM men’s and women’s swimming teams will play host for the fifth annual Bill Ritter Invitational this weekend.

Diving events begin Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Schroeder YMCA. Swimming events begin Friday at 5:30 at UWM’s Klotsche Center. On Saturday, the first session begins at 10:00 a.m. at the Klotsche Center, and the second session begins at 3:00 p.m.

Teams competing in the event include Butler, UIC and UW-Green Bay, all MCC schools. Also competing will be Notre Dame’s men’s squad, Northern Michigan’s women’s squad and the Marquette club team.

“This should be a fun and competitive meet,” said UWM coach Dave Clark. “We have four good conference teams, plus Northern Michigan’s women are traditionally good and Notre Dame’s men are traditionally very good.”
