Senior takes highest place ever by UWM diver
March 18, 2002
MILWAUKEE - Senior Nic Seider took 11th place in the 1m diving competition at the Zone C Regional Diving Championships on Saturday, the highest placing ever by a Panther diver. Seider's score of 272.60 for six dives wasn't good enough to qualify him for the NCAA Championships, but it was good enough to put him into the top half of the field. Of the 23 athletes entered in the competition, only six advanced to next weekend's NCAA Championships. Seider also competed in the 3m competition, placing 15th out of 23 with a score of 432.85. Seider was joined by junior Krystina Herzog at the competition. Herzog finished the 3m diving in 39th place out of 42 divers with a score of 179.55. She fared better in the 1m competition, finishing 35th out of 43, scoring 194.70 points. The UWM swimming and diving teams concluded the team portion of the season with the Horizon League Championships on Feb. 27-Mar. 3 in Chicago. The women's team placed third, while the men captured a fourth-place finish. |
