Milwaukee - Kari Kinney and Nick Bowers each took first place in their respective divisions at the Bob Mowerson Memorial Meet in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., on Jan. 4.

Kinney took first in the 200m freestyle with a time of 2:37.83, while Bowers placed first in the 50m breaststroke in 32.86. Todd Murray took second place in the same event, while Ben Creydt finished fourth.

Several other Panthers also had strong showings at the time trial. Michael Belting placed second in the 50m backstroke, finishing a half second out of first place. In the women's 50m breaststroke, the Panthers took second, third and fourth places. Kristin Cefalu took second, followed by Leslie Brock and Erin Pollyea.

The Panthers return to competition on Jan. 19, when they host Butler at the Klotsche Center. The meet begins at 11 a.m.
