Head Baseball Coach Scott Doffek Signs Contract Extension
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Athletic Director George Koonce has announced that head baseball coach Scott Doffek has signed a new three-year contract. Doffek just concluded his third season as the head coach of the Panthers. He was named the seventh head baseball coach in school history on Sept. 25, 2006. Doffek was named Horizon League Coach of the Year in 2009 after leading his squad to a second-place finish. The team also had a league-high four players earn first team all-league honors.

Jeter In Colorado Springs As Preparations Begin For World University Games
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's basketball coach Rob Jeter is now in Colorado Springs as preparations begin for the 2009 World University Games. Jeter is an assistant coach for Team USA. He, along with team head coach Bo Ryan, fellow assistant coach Frank Haith and 16 collegiate stars, gathered earlier this week for the start of tryouts and training camp. Twelve players will be selected by the USA Basketball Men's Junior National Committee to represent the USA in the games, scheduled for July 2-11 in Belgrade, Serbia. For Jeter, the opportunity to be an assistant coach on the international level is a great one.

Women's Swimming Announces New Recruiting Class
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's swimming and diving team has announced the addition of six student-athletes who will compete next season for the Panthers. UWM head coach Erica Janssen announced today that Maggi Beck of Minot, N.D., Andrea Chvatal of Eagan, Minn., Madeline King of Madison, Wis., Karmyn Vandewettering of DeForest, Wis., Trinity Whitney of Eau Claire, Wis., and Ashley Yanzsa of West Chester, Ohio, will all enroll at UWM and participate next season.
