Annual Tipoff Luncheon Set For October 31Oct. 18, 2006
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee will hold its annual Tipoff Luncheon Tuesday, Oct. 31, at the Pfister Hotel. The event features a reception and lunch in addition to comments by men's basketball coach Rob Jeter and women's basketball coach Sandy Botham previewing the 2006-07 season. The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. and will run until approximately 1 p.m. Tickets to the event are just $25, and fans can contact the UWM Ticket Office at 414-229-5886 for more information or to make reservations. The Pfister Hotel is located at 424 E. Wisconsin Ave. in downtown Milwaukee. The event comes right before each team opens its exhibition season. The men host UW-Parkside in an exhibition contest Nov. 1 while the women host Concordia (Wis.) in an exhibition game Nov. 2. Each team advanced to the NCAA Tournament a year ago, with the men beating Oklahoma before falling to eventual national champion Florida while the women dropped a tough contest to Michigan State. |
