UWM, Time Warner Sports Announce Three-Year Broadcasting AgreementOct. 3, 2007 MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Time Warner Cable have announced a multi-year agreement that makes Time Warner Sports (Channel 32) the official television broadcast partner for Panther athletics. The three-year contract is highlighted by expanded live coverage of men's and women's basketball, starting with this coming season. The men will appear live on Time Warner Sports 12 times during 2007-08, with every Horizon League road contest included in the package. Meanwhile the women will have eight live broadcasts, including both regular-season meetings with Green Bay. The partnership will also include additional tape-delayed broadcasts, with replays of every UWM men's basketball home game and women's league home game. Plus, Time Warner Sports will be the home for "The Rob Jeter Show" and "The Sandy Botham Show," as well as coverage of UWM volleyball, men's soccer, women's soccer and baseball. In all, the 2007-08 school year will see Time Warner Sports carry at least 48 live and tape-delayed Panther athletic contests, making this easily the most extensive local television package for any Horizon League school. The number of events will likely increase as Time Warner Sports adds coverage of Horizon League Championships held in Milwaukee as well as contests involving the Panther baseball team this spring. "Since its launch in January of this year, Time Warner Sports has continued to provide unique, exclusive Wisconsin sports programming from a variety of sports teams and a diverse audience of athletes." The live men's basketball package will kick off Nov. 14 when the Panthers play at Ball State. Then, in addition to every league road game, the men's package also includes home games with Wisconsin (Dec. 12) and Green Bay (Feb. 16). Daron Sutton, now the voice of Major League Baseball's Arizona Diamondbacks, and Jason Clark will return to call all of the live men's games. The live women's package starts Nov. 28 when the Panthers welcome Miami (Fla.) of the ACC to the Klotsche Center. The slate also includes non-league contests with Drake (Dec. 13) and North Dakota State (Dec. 20) as well as league games against UIC (Jan. 23), Butler (Feb. 14) and Detroit (March 6). Plus, Time Warner Sports will have live coverage of both meetings between Milwaukee and Green Bay. The package of fall events on Time Warner Sports actually kicked off Sept. 23 with the women's soccer match between UWM and Marquette and also included last night's volleyball match between UWM and Green Bay. The fall slate also includes live coverage of men's soccer games with Wisconsin (Oct. 10) and at Marquette (Oct. 31) along with tape-delayed coverage of women's soccer at Green Bay (Oct. 2), men's soccer at Green Bay (Oct. 27) and volleyball at Green Bay (Nov. 2).
