
UWM Lands League-Best 12 On All-Academic TeamApril 17, 2007 MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has placed a Horizon League-best 12 student-athletes on the Winter Academic All-Horizon League team. The full teams were announced by the league office this morning. UWM placed three student-athletes apiece on the teams for men's swimming and diving, women's swimming and diving, men's indoor track and field and women's indoor track and field. In men's swimming, Karl Winderl was named to the team for a second-straight year while Robby Leibold and David Yugo were first-time honorees. On the women's side, Lindsay Caldwell earned league all-academic honors for the third time while Emma McKeith was honored for a second time. Crystal Szymanski was named to the team for a first time. In men's indoor track and field, Justin Bohler, Larry Ehrhorn and Adam Schleis were all honored by the league for the first time. On the women's team, Kourtney Nault, Holly Nearman and Jenni Saarinen were also first-time honorees. The Horizon League recognizes student-athletes with Academic All-League teams in each of its 19 championship sports. To be eligible for Academic All-Horizon League consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 or higher (based on a 4.00 scale) and have completed at least one year at the member institution having earned 24 semester-hour or 36 quarter-hour credits. The teams are selected in voting by the league's faculty athletic representatives and sports information directors. Men's Swimming
